Profile: C. Rod Baker
Rod was born and raised in Lambton County. He graduated from Lambton College in 1990 as an instrumentation and control engineering technologist.
During the college years, he spent two co-op work terms at a chemical valley company in the Sarnia area, where he was hired as a fulltime member of their instrument and electrical department after graduation.
Over the next 16 years, Rod gained valuable skills and knowledge as an instrument and electrical technician performing troubleshooting, calibrations, maintenance and repairs. During this time period Rod also attained his construction and maintenance electrician licence. By the year 2000 Rod accepted the role of instrumentation and electrical planner along with leading the maintenance group's ISO program. Along with the invaluable job skills, he developed a "safety first" attitude, fostered by a culture in which safety was the top priority.
Since founding Baker Controls Inc., Rod has used his years of on-site industrial experience to provide several companies with an instrumentation and electrical technician on an as-needed contract basis. In early 2009, Rod achieved his Master Electrician licence and registered Baker Controls Inc. with the ESA Electrical Contracting Registration Agency.
